Okay! So, quite a few years ago, in Uganda, Africa, there was this woman named Alice Lakwina. Her real name was Alice Auma she went by Lakwina because that was the name of the spirit that "possessed" her. She decided that she wanted to overthrow the Uganda government. so she started to build up an army. The Lord's resistance army (LRA) is what she called it. an army of children. At night she and her followers would abduct children, all between the ages of 4-10. She chose these children because they were young enough to be brainwashed but old enough to carry weapons. Alice brainwashed the children to become insensitive to killing. She would do this by killing and torturing other children in front of them. all the kids would be severely beaten if they cried. She was very successful. when she died a man named Joesph Kony came forward and claimed to be her cousin. (no one knows if he actually is or if he just wanted control over the army) Kony keep the LRA going. Today the army is stronger than it ever was and the kids of Uganda need our help. Every night the children who have not been abducted all walk to the local hospitals because they are too afraid to stay at home. Obviously it gets very crowded, but that doesn't matter to them because they would rather be there than any where else. The hospitals are guarded by one man with one gun. Because of everything that is going on these children are loosing education, and the Uganda government has diminished to almost nothing.
there has been a non-profit organization set up to help this problem. it is called Invisible Children. They have a documentary out on it right now. You might be wondering why i am telling this to you, right? Well, after my friends and i saw this video we decided we wanted to do something about it. We are starting a new branch off the invisible children organization at our school. we are selling shirts purses and bracelets all to help build up the government and send the kids of Uganda to school.
We are happy to announce that we have spread the word all around our school and to many of the other schools. (we heard it was already to Keller.) We are all SUPER excited about it. We are having a screening of the documentary for the public at our school this Friday, March 2nd at 7:00. We are hoping to see at least 500 people there, but with the way things are going i think we might get a lot more.
I just wanted to tell everyone what i am up to, and if you can come i would love to see you all there.
if there are any questions you can ask me or go to www.invisiblechildren.com.

The sad thing is that this is going on in more than just Africa. Where we are having our war in the middle east children are trained to do the same thing. I have heard reports from many soldiers and friends that they have had to be involved in fire fights with small children. They had no choice. Shoot them or they will shoot you. It is happening all over the world and it has been happening for more than a few years. As far back as war travels people have trained chilren to fight in third world countries. I wish that we could stop it, but it's like terrorism. No matter what we do it will always be around. If we do get it out of this city in Africa there are still Thousands of other cities with the problem. You would be sooner to convince the world to no longer eat meat then rid this evil. It is brought by satan and until Our Lord God decides that it is time to destroy him it will most likely continue. I know this is not what you want to hear, but saddly it is the truth. I love you and I'm sorry. I know that this world is full of hate but one day the wrong will be righted. Know that the Lord God loves children. He sees the injustice to corrupt the innocent minds of them. He loves them and knows that they know no better. He is a God of mercy and a God of love. He will bring justice one day.
Hi Cara,
I just read your posting and I am so impressed that you & your friends are spreading the word and trying to educate those around you, regarding this horrible injustice to children. It takes just one voice to make a difference and I applaud you for wanting start the process to eradicate this inhumanity. You are an amazing person and I am very proud of you. From what you said, word is spreading and, hopefully people are listening. Every time anyone takes action to help stop evil(like this), is doing God's work and you are a fine example of one doing the Lord's work. Love and blessings
Cara -- we're so proud of you and believe in you! You can do anything you set your mind with! We're here to help in anyway we can and we're so proud of you! Love you bunches Kelly
